Storö 34 from 1970 in an almost original condition with newer teak decks, transom and engines.
Storö IV, as the boat was originally called, was presented back in 1965. The boat was produced from 1965 until 1975, after which it was built in a slightly more up-to-date design as Storebro Royal 34 until 1988. It therefore became one of the shipyard's absolute best-selling boats with just over 800 units built.
The hull was first built exclusively in mahogany, but it was already possible from 1968 to have the hull delivered in GRP and from 1979 the hull was made exclusively in GRP. The shipyard imported the wood as whole logs, and these were stored in the water in the harbor until it was needed, to completely avoid cracks in the wood prior to its use.
The boat was designed by Einar Runius (hull) and Winfried H. Wilke for design and layout. Wilke then became house designer for Storebro Yard.
This boat has shipyard build number 1827 and is therefore built in 1970 as Storö IV exclusively in wood. The boat was originally supplied with MD32 engines, but these were replaced in 1985 with Volvo Penta MD40A. These engines have been only little used, and it is assumed that the number of engine hours is somewhere between 350-400 hours.
Previous and current owners have taken very good care of the boat, which has been continuously maintained at Brandt Møller's boatyard in Jægerspris. Here its teak decks and transom were replaced in 1985 as well as the heads were remade with mahogany panels. New props from 2017 as well as exhausts in 2021.
The boat appears fresh with newly painted freeboard and tops.
If you are into traditional classic motorboats with both charm and comfort, then this Storö is a really good example of such. Winter cradle and tarpaulin are included, just as it is possible to take over the berth in Frederikssund.
