Hallberg-Rassy 48 Tess – An Exclusive Bluewater Cruiser for the World’s Oceans

Hallberg-Rassy 48 Tess is now for sale.

For those looking for a premium-built bluewater cruiser with proven quality, exceptional comfort and outstanding seaworthiness, the Hallberg-Rassy 48 is one of the most sought-after alternatives on the market. For decades, the model has established itself as one of the world’s most respected bluewater cruisers and is a natural choice for sailors planning extended stays aboard, ocean passages or comfortable cruising along the coasts of Europe.

Tess is an excellent example of why Hallberg-Rassy has become synonymous with safety, quality and long-term ownership satisfaction. Tess has spent most of her life sailing in Northern Europe and has been carefully maintained by her owners. During one season, the yacht was based in Valencia before continuing her sailing to Northern Norway and making several voyages to Scotland – destinations that place high demands on both yacht and equipment.

Exterior and Sailing Performance

At first glance, Tess conveys the solid quality and craftsmanship that have made Hallberg-Rassy world-renowned. The classic centre cockpit layout provides a protected and secure cockpit, while the deck arrangement is designed for easy handling even when sailing with a small crew or single-handed.

The yacht is well equipped for comfortable and efficient sailing. On board are Lewmar electric winches, hydraulic in-haul and outhaul for the mainsail, a Furlex furling system on the forestay, as well as a hydraulic boom vang and backstay adjuster. This combination provides excellent sail-trim control and makes sail handling straightforward even in demanding conditions.

The bow thruster is operated via the classic foot pedals at the helm station, while a hydraulic passerelle at the stern makes docking and stern-to mooring easier in harbour.

The Hamel Sails inventory is complemented by a fixed cutter stay, providing considerable flexibility for both coastal sailing and longer offshore passages. The sails are in good condition and offer many years of continued use.

Interior – Comfort for Long-Distance Cruising and Life Aboard

The interior reflects Hallberg-Rassy’s renowned craftsmanship, with high-quality woodwork, thoughtful solutions and generous living spaces. From the companionway, you are welcomed by a warm and inviting atmosphere that makes the yacht equally appealing as a floating holiday home and as a long-distance cruising yacht.

To starboard is the spacious U-shaped galley, offering plenty of worktop space, an easily accessible refrigerator and a separate freezer adjacent to the navigation station. This is a layout particularly appreciated during longer passages, where functionality and comfort are essential.

The saloon features a large U-shaped sofa to starboard and the classic Hallberg-Rassy armchairs to port. The windows and generously sized deck hatches create a bright and airy atmosphere.

Forward is a guest or crew cabin with bunk beds, together with a guest heads equipped with a washing machine. Furthest forward is the spacious forecabin with a generous double berth.

Owner’s Cabin Aft

The large aft cabin forms the yacht’s private owner’s suite and offers a level of comfort rarely found in this size category. It features a large double berth, extensive storage and a private heads with a separate shower.

For those planning extended periods aboard or long-distance cruising to remote destinations, Tess offers an onboard living environment that combines functionality, comfort and the highest level of quality.

Summary

Hallberg-Rassy 48 Tess is a well-equipped, well-maintained and seaworthy bluewater cruiser with proven capabilities for both coastal cruising and longer offshore passages. The combination of a high equipment level, well-considered layout and Hallberg-Rassy’s renowned build quality makes this an unusually attractive opportunity for the discerning sailor.
