Forgus 37

The Forgus 37 is a classic center cockpit boat from Henån on the island of Orust. The boat of the highest Orust quality in a concept that several yards on the island have proven over the years. This is No. 222 and has been in the same ownership since 'almost new' and updated with knowledge and passion over the years.

Forgus 37 is somewhat of the flag-ship model for Forgusvarvet and Hugo Samuelsson. Starting with the Forgus 31, the shipyard continued to develop boats in typical Orust fashion, well-built boats intended for safe travel on any ocean. Fogus 37 is a center cockpit boat in the same way and in the same class as e.g. Hallberg-Rassy 36 and Najad 361, i.e. well-made boats for short and long trips at sea, often sailed by a couple with guests or a family with two children. The feeling of solid security in the boat is striking.

This Forgus 37a was bought by the current owner when the shipyard shut down in 1999. The boat at the time been used as a show boat at the Open Yard boat fair in Ellös, so "almost new" is a good description of the boat when the current owner acquired her. This Forgus 37 has a slab-reefing main and twin head stays, with a self-tacking jib on the inner fore-stay. The teak deck was replaced with a glued teak deck in 2019, and the deck is in very good condition. The genoa winches are updated to large Andersen winches with the electric motor integrated into the base of the winch, which means that the assembly does not encroach on the space below deck. A draft of approx. 1.60 with a wing keel in lead makes the boat suitable not only for the high seas and adventourous archipelagos, but also for the canals of Europe. The keel has been re-set in following a grounding in 2012 and the rudder has been adjusted in depth so that the rudder is now no deeper than the keel. A good boat made even better.

She has had her home port on Köpstadsö in Gothenburg's southern archipelago, and has been stored indoors in Torslanda Lagun during the winters. She is currently inside on land and viewings can be arranged there.

A wonderfully well built boat. Wherever you want to go, the Forgus 37 will not let you down.
