We are happy to welcome Marko Ristolainen aboard! Marko is joining Båtagent as our new broker in Turku, Finland.

We asked Marko to tell us a bit about himself:

“I am an experienced professional within the boating and sales industry and have worked as an entrepreneur for nearly 30 years. My life with boats began at the age of five, when my family bought a summer house in the Archipelago Sea in Gustavs, close to the outer archipelago. Boats and the archipelago quickly became a lifelong passion.

As a young sailor, I actively competed in the Optimist class and later spent many years windsurfing whenever the waters were open. I have owned several different motorboats, from fishing boats to larger long-distance cruisers and have also done a lot of sailing with friends. My first solo trip to the Åland Islands was at the age of 15, in a Buster with a tent onboard.

Together with a friend, I also founded an import company for boat engines and marine accessories, which we later sold. This means the accessories market and navigation equipment are also very familiar to me from a professional standpoint. I also run a sandblasting company, where I carry out blasting of boat hulls. Alongside my work with boats and marine equipment, I am also a business broker, helping entrepreneurs realise their dreams and find new owners for their companies.

I therefore have extensive experience with boats and marine equipment of many kinds, and I always use this knowledge to the benefit of both sellers and buyers!”
