Hallberg-Rassy 45 for sale, cruising in comfort with speed. Lines by Frers and build by Rassy made the yacht a winner. This 45 has been cherished from the egg, always stored indoors, updated continuously and used sparingly. A unique example of this fine yacht.

Hallberg-Rassy 45 was the winner of the ARC, Atlantic Rally for Cruisers, following its introduction. This does not define the yacht as a racer, but demonstrates more than respectable speed for a long-distance cruiser.  The combination of security, comfort, style and speed defined the way forward for Hallberg-Rassy to this day and beyond. The way the yard has carefully and very gradually updated the concept make the yachts to some extent time-less, never really going out of style. To combine this with the beauty of Frers’ hull-lines and a setup that really makes it a pleasure to take the helm, is not something that can be said about many yachts.

This HR 45 is very probably the best 45 on the market today. It has been sailed in North European waters, predominantly in Scandinavia, benefiting from the short Scandinavian season and the practice of storing the yachts ashore and indoors in a heated storage throughout the winter months. She has been maintained and updated by renowned yards on the Swedish Island of Orust, first by Martinssons in Svineviken, and then by Adam’s Boat Care on Vindön. It is hard to understand that the teak decks are original from the yard, but when you consider how the yachts has been used, stored and maintained, combining this with the approximately 1300 hours on the engine, this starts to make sense. Truly impressive.

The yacht is a true all-rounder, easily managed by cruising couple or indeed a larger crew. The concept of “push button sailing” with electrical furlers assisting with managing the sail plan, as well well-sized engine and bow-thruster, make this possible.

The interior woodwork is of very high quality as always with Hallberg-Rassy, and by the way of careful updates, the yacht is ”Hallberg-Rassy up-to-date”. Upholstery and lighting, as well as electronics, fridge and freezer, were all replaced between 2013 and 2015. The hull was rid of all old paint and epoxy treated in 2012. On board, there is also air-conditioning, a dish-washer, water maker, and a genset. Everything and then some. See the list of equipment for full details.

The lay-out below is probably the best of the ones available on this model, with the symmetrical cabins with bunk-beds before the mast, sharing a joint head and shower up front. The owners state-room is, as always on a center cockpit design, aft. The afte state-room has en-suite head and shower. The saloon has the by now familiar two chairs to star board, and a u-shaped sofa around a large table to port. The backrest of the sofa is on hinges, and can be used as an additional sea-berth. The galley is in its traditional place on a Rassy, by the companionway to star board, and as such is both large and usable both at sea and in port.

The forward end of the center cockpit is protected by a hard-top, making it comfortable and secure during a windy and rainy passage. By beautiful weather, the large aft deck, with integrated seats in the push-pit, is part of the “fine-weather cockpit”, again to be used both underway and at a anchor.

The main and genoa were renewed in Hydranet for the 2016 season. In addition to the main and genoa, there is a jib for the cutter-stay, and a spinnaker. Sail-area can be adjusted for up-wind  sailing as well as down-wind sailing in pretty much any weather.

Welcome to step aboard a real icon of a yacht, a yacht that can be enjoyed in port, at anchor, as well as girdling the planet, one lap after another….

If there ever was an opportunity…
