Hallberg-Rassy 40-2009, extremely well maintained with most equipment imaginable. Adventure boat for those who want to go out on the big seas.

Hallberg-Rassy 40, No. 123, is a fantastic 40-foot sailboat. This example from 2009 has a high level of equipment, extremely well maintained.
Hallberg-Rassy 40 was built in 168 copies from 2002 to 2018 and is a boat that does not set any restrictions when it comes to sailing in home waters or lap after lap around the world.

"Sturdy as few" was the review of the Hallberg-Rassy 40, when it participated in a large boat test against nine other 40-footers carried out by the meritorious boat magazines Båtnytt and Seilas in the fall of 2007.
The background to the HR-40 is the continuation of the renewal of the shipyard's fleet that began with the Hallberg-Rassy 43 replaced by the Hallberg-Rassy 42F in 2002. The goal was to improve speed through the water - carefully, by raising the stern ships and lengthening the waterline, while the bow became a little sharper and the stern a little wider and more portly. The model took over from the Hallberg-Rassy 39 and Germán Frers designed the hull with a slim foredeck, deeper rudder, larger sail surface, upright stern and stylish bow with sea worthy fore.
The interior layout means plenty of stowage space and fine comfort. Through a clever design trick of using the space in the cockpit frame, full standing height is also achieved in the passage to the aft rudders. There is a separate shower with plexiglass walls in the toilet area and a washing machine. The interior in this example has the solution with two armchairs in the salon, which is a solution that Hallberg-Rassy introduced as the first lap in the world back in 1984.

Technical equipment has been installed in the large engine room. Here you will find the main machine, pumps, filters, chargers, inverters, and a lot more. This means that such equipment is easily accessible for service and everything is well soundproofed. The main access is through two doors on the starboard side, and an inspection hatch in the bottom of the cockpit stowage. In addition, the bottom of the cockpit is bolted, so the engine can be lifted out the same way it entered the boat. Hallberg-Rassy boats are expected to be sailed a lot and intensively. Sooner or later the day will come when you need to remove large components from the boat, such as tanks or engines. Then it's nice to know that these come out of the boat the same way they came in. This should be a matter of course on a good long-distance boat.

The interior is today's very classic "Hallberg-Rassy solution" with the owner's cabin in the stern, the guest cabin in the bow, a toilet with a shower for the main bulkhead, a rear-facing horseshoe-shaped kitchenette and a salon with a large table, sofa, and two fantastically comfortable armchairs.

The Hallberg-Rassy 40 sails very well and the sail handling is easily managed by one person from the cockpit, this with the help of furling mast and electric winches.
The boat has been pampered with winter storage in the hall, first by Hallberg-Rassy's German company who had the boat as a showboat until 2012, when the boat was bought by the first private owner, a German family. In 2021 the boat was bought by the current owner who upgraded the boat and stored it indoors during the winter. The boat has never gone on a long voyage, but has only been sailed in northern Europe.
More information about the model is available on Hallberg-Rassy's website.

The Hallberg-Rassy 40 is simply one of, if not the, finest 40 footer ever built and this example is as fully equipped and well maintained as few. A dream that can come true.
