A true classic for sale, Grand Banks 36 Classic
A very well-maintained and carefully serviced Grand Banks 36 Classic, m/y Haddock is now for sale due to time constraints. This boat has been used by two families over the past three boating seasons, during which it has been meticulously maintained and repaired without sparing time or effort. The Grand Banks' calm nature and spacious, bright interiors invite long sea voyages, but it is also ideal for enjoying cozy natural and guest harbors. Despite Haddock's weight of nearly 12 tons, it cruises comfortably at 7 knots with a fuel consumption of only about 10–12 liters per hour.

Living and Comfort
Living aboard Haddock is easy and comfortable. All cabins have standing height, and the passageways are wide and clear. The deck areas are generously equipped with sturdy railings, and the wide swim platform facilitates harbor maneuvers and swimming. The deck offers a sheltered spot for enjoying the scenery in almost any weather, and the flybridge is spacious enough to accommodate a larger group. The cabins have ample storage space, and there are two toilets. The aft cabin also has a shower. The large septic tank ensures that you won't need to visit the pump-out station too often.
The kitchen is a pleasure to work in; it features a proper sink, a four-burner gas stove, a 50-liter electric refrigerator, and plenty of counter space. The pressurized water from the freshwater tanks (1000 liters) is heated by the engine's cooling water or by shore power when in port. For cooler conditions, the Planar diesel heater provides comfortable warmth.
Upgraded Equipment
The following equipment has been upgraded on Haddock:
2020–2021: Fuel tanks (2 x 270 liters) and septic tank (approx. 180 liters), refrigerator, swim platform, service batteries 4 x 180 Ah, starter batteries 2 x 160 Ah, engine room lighting, aft cabin mattresses, boat dinnerware. Overhaul of the fuel injectors and pumps, new fuel filters (2 per engine).
2021–2022: New VETUS bow thruster (BOW7524D), aft deck surface laminate, gas grill, new bow ladder.
2022–2023: Autopilot (Raymarine EV-1, steering unit ST4000, control unit p70s), engine mounts, propeller shaft support bearings, flybridge cover, expansion tank for the pressurized water system.
Neither the boat nor its machinery has been neglected, and they have been regularly maintained. The electrical system has also been upgraded by replacing old components with modern ones and installing new electrical panels in the engine room. The boat is equipped with a shore power system and a basic 24-volt system, supplemented by 12-volt components behind a voltage reducer.
Haddock is equipped with a comprehensive monitoring system (SignalK) that monitors engine performance, temperatures, power consumption, and fluid levels in the tanks. A large, clear navigation computer has been added to the helm and functions as a plotter (OpenCPN, see photos).
Inspection and Sale
Haddock is currently stored at the Loviisan Veneveistämö shipyard, where it can be viewed by appointment before launch. The new owner will receive instructions on the boat's operation and basic technical principles before final delivery. Our home port in Helsinki has been HMV's harbor in Kulosaari, where a mooring spot for the upcoming season is possible if needed.
