Sailing has been an integral part of Arne’s life since early childhood. He took his first unassisted steps at the age of ten months aboard his parents’ Albin Vega. This was followed by the classic sailing progression – starting with the Optimist, continuing through various dinghies such as the 420, and eventually moving on to racing and cruising yachts. As a teenager, Arne became a member of the youth department of Kiel Yacht Club, where he not only sailed but also worked actively. During this time, he gained extensive hands on experience on a wide variety of boats – ranging from Folkboats and the 12mR to J24s, J80s and a Baltic 52. It was within this environment that he also met his wife, who continues to share his passion for sailing.

After finishing school, the couple purchased their first own yacht, an Albin Express, and Arne began his education as a Master Mariner. Alongside his nautical studies and required sea time, he worked as a Junior Nautical and Technical Superintendent on container vessels, bulk carriers and Ro/Ro ferries. He later continued his professional career in the maritime industry, taking on project management roles in technically complex navigation projects within the shipbuilding and yachting sector.

After approximately ten years sailing the Albin Express, the family moved on to an X 99, which was actively sailed and owned for nearly another decade. As family needs evolved, the X 99 was sold after around ten years and replaced with an X 362 Sport. With more than 40 years of sailing experience, deep technical and nautical expertise, long term yacht ownership, and a strong network in Kiel, Schleswig Holstein and beyond, Arne offers compelling qualifications as a boat broker. His approach is defined by trust, competence and a genuine understanding of yachting from an owner’s and sailor’s perspective.
