Nuticat 33 from 1978 in a very good condition and with many upgrades. The first with the Poop Deck upgrade.
Nauticat 33, again and again, the Nauticat 33er is mentioned as Siltala Yacht's "Grand Old Lady", and by most also called the uncrowned queen of the motor sailors. Since the first 33 rolled out of the yard in 1966, a total of 1172 pieces have been produced up to the year 1997, when the new version N331 was launched. And th Nauticat 33 is still praised as: "One of the most spacious", "Coping with all kinds of weather" and "Extremely seaworthy" as a token for the boat's reputation and quality.
Nauticat 33 is and remains a real classic, and in 1978 the otherwise incredibly popular version with wooden superstructure had a larger facelift. From building number 501, Siltala Shipyard changed the design to the now more well-known Poop Deck version. This is the first of its kind, which was shown on Bella in February 1978.
This Nauticat 33 is in a very good condition of her age, and current and only second owner has looked after her well during his possession. He has a list of 20 pages of detailed changes and upgrades he has made to the boat during his 23-year ownership.
Of the more extensive upgrades to be mentioned are; a new replacement engine in 2014, new cushions throughout the boat in nice bright alcantara, a total replacement of the old teak deck to modern FlexiTeak was carried out on the entire boat in 2013, new Raymarine autopilot in 2014, new diesel tanks in stainless steel in 2007, new sails and roller furlex in 2004 (Sails are as new, have only been used 4 times). In addition, the boat's toilet was converted into a real bathroom with electric toilet and a holding tank.
The current owner has gone ashore and the boat needs a new owner. The boat has been on dry land in a tent for the last three seasons. In October 2020, a preliminary survey of a professional surveyor was carried out and no significant defects have been identified on the boat. It's just putting it in the water and leave!
There are custom-built benches and chairs for the aft deck, which makes this area an actual terrace, in addition to being a safe place to stay also while sailing.
Of course, the current owner has also had a bow-thruster installed, which makes it incredibly simple to call and moor in any port, whether it blows or not.
Are you in need of floating accommodation, are you ready for the long distance voyage (maybe south via the European canal system) well – have a look at this boat.
