Malö 116 - Cruiser in the classic Orust Design. Well equipped and updated for new adventures. High rigging with inmast furler, new engine electric sheet winches etz..
Malö 116 was built by Malöværftet in Kungsviken according to the outstanding Orust quality and finish. Here you will find all Malö's specific characteristics, the targa arc being the basis base for both the mainsail sheeting, which provides a mechanical and a practical advantage and additionally keeps the cockpit completely clean and safe. In addition this also adds as an anchoring of the spray hood, which is hence very safe and firm. In the targa arc you also have a built-in lighting, which makes the cockpit a nice "outdoor space" that is quick to cover with the sprayhood extension in case of bad weather.
This Malö 116 is from 1982 and is the three cabin version. The owners cabin is located forward with a large double bunk, good floor space and plenty of stowage space in cabinets and under the bunks. On the port side just aft of the owners cabin you will find a spacious toilet.
The saloon is as all Malös very spacious and can easily be converted into a couple of sea berths when needed. Behind the navigation place and behind the pantry, which features Malö's traditional upper cabinets, you will find the two aft cabins, each with a double berth for a couple or for guests. As usual, you'll find plenty of stowage space throughout the boat in the form of drawers and cupboards above as well as under the berths. Everything on a Malö is planned and created in a way that gives the feeling and sense of forms and functionality - typical of Malö's boats.
Here you can sail to every odd corner of the world in a safe and comfortable way. The draft of only 1.70 metres with the semi long keel means that you could also begin the trip with a journey through Europe's canals.
This boat has got the high rigging (plus 80 cm) with in-mast furling of the mainsail, which also helps to make sailing simple. For harbour maneouvres a bow thruster as well as a stern thruster makes berthing real easy.
A new engine from Volvo Penta has also been added with a saildrive instead of shaft, which has provided plenty of space for batteries and chargers in front of the engine.
The teak decks and coach roof teak has over the last two winters been removed and now replaced with KiwiGrip instead. A more environmentally friendly solution.
If you are interested in a high-quality Orust boat with aft cockpit, then here is a good opportunity to board one!
