Najad 39 from 1984. Extended 37 rigged as a ketch with tons of upgrades among which new teak decks and engine.

Najad 39 is a ketch based on the Peter Norlin-designed Najad 37.

The 39er has a negative stern and a slightly larger aft deck than the original, and reportedly only a handful of 39s like this have been built. These "Najad 39" are completed outside the Najad Yard, probably because the Yard itself was focused on the new Najad 390.

There are several models from the various shipyards on Orust that at this time were offered with a slightly slimmer, negative stern as an alternative, and which then became larger, e.g. malö 116, which in the version with a different stern was called Malö 41. On this Najad 39 you will find everything that made Najadvarvet world famous, and which made the Najad as an often chosen first choice by those who want to sail far and appreciate solid and beautiful craftsmanship.

This boat has a spacious main cabin, a fine aft cabin with two real berths, a good and spacious toilet (heads), as well as a forward-V-berth cabin that is very spacious. Everywhere you will find drawers and cabinets, as all volume is utilized exemplary and efficiently. This Najad 39 has the  teak wood interieur.

The current owner bought the boat back in 1997 and then made a lot of updates in order to embark on a longer journey. The plans were changed however, but despite of this, the boat has continued to be refined with a newly laid teak deck in 2016, newly painted hull, superstructure and masts and was lately fitted with a new machine in 2020. The new Yanmar is largely unused.

For the past nine years, the boat has been used very sparingly and been stored inside a warm shelter for most of the year, which of course has had a positive impact on the condition overall.

There are also fine sails, including a largely unused genua from Gransegel in fine laminate cloth.

A lovely cruising sailor from Orust is waiting to be taken out on the seas.
