Classic yacht from 1989 with great comfort and fine woodwork combined with excellent sailing characteristics. When the Hallberg- Rassy 45 was launched in 1988 it was a trendsetter. It was the first Hallberg-Rassy designed by Germán Frers and the model also won the ARC over the Atlantic, in competition with a wide range of vessels from Whitbread boats, racers/cruisers to smaller family style boats. This is a yacht that never goes out of style.

This 45 model is known for its strong construction, examples being the lead key and the sturdy hull stiffener along and across the boat.  This model was also introduced with a hull insulated with Divinycell foam core which ensures an even firmer hull as well as good insulation from heat and cold.

This yacht has over the past few years had many upgrades and renovations. In 2017, the owner before current had a new electric generator installed, “Whisper”. Current owner had the boat upgraded during 2017 and 2018 by

https://www.adamsboatcare.com/ on the Swedish west coast. The owner of this company has more than 30 years’ experience as a boat builder at HR. Examples of upgrades: New foot board in the whole boat, new carpet, and new cushions in the salon and by the navigation area. The port hand sofa was also rebuilt when the Refleks heater (diesel) was installed in the saloon. Furthermore, several technical upgrades were done in 2017 and 2018 (for more details, see the equipment description); new AIS, new plotter, new radar, new VHF to name a few. During 2019 the hull was blasted and surfaced with epoxy and new antifouling. That year the boat was also equipped with new batteries and a new battery charger.

Below deck

The Hallberg-Rassy 45 feels like a cozy home thanks to its smart layout combined with high quality mahogany in all details. The newly installed heater in the saloon adds to this feeling. The galley is on example of good design – seagoing with sufficient room on worktops on either side of the cocker and the sink. The navigation area is another example; sufficient room to walk past without disturbing the navigator. The walkthroughs are positioned in a way so that the fore and aft cabins have privacy without having to close the door.

Toilet with shower in fore. Here, it is also possible to install a washing machine. The two cabins in fore have easy access to this WC. Fore cabin on port side has a good-sized bunk bed. Additional comfortable sleeping in fore starboard cabin.

Plenty of room for the crew around the table. The backrest of the starboard sofa can easily be lifted and will then turn into a wide bed. Perfect place to rest while offshore.

Owner´s cabin in aft has 2 beds; the starboard bed is almost like a double bed and the portside bed is like a normal bed. Both beds have extra bed mattresses. Plenty of room for clothes and good-sized floor – will easily house 2 persons without feeling cramped. Access to aft WC with shower from this cabin. With the 1000-liter water tank the crew will not run out of water.

On deck and sailing

Electric mainsail furling as well as furling genoa – very comfortable! Both mainsheet grinders are electric as well. These can also be used for the genoa or the anchor line if needed. The bow thruster and the aft thruster are of great help when navigating in ports. Strong anchor grinder with chain in fore. On transom a good-sized bathing platform and robust davits. Folded gangway in teak and aluminum. Stainless steel bow ladder

Visiting – Transport sailing – Live streaming

The yacht is located in Nazaré, Portugal. The owner is Swedish. I am also Swedish, and I live in Nazaré – comes in handy if you would like to visit the boat. And given to situation with Covid and travel restriction I can also make a live streaming of the boat a time that suits you. Then, we will walk through the boat together and you will be able to take a closer look at whatever you like.  I sailed the yacht from the Swedish west coast to its current harbor in Nazaré with a small crew in 2018. Therefore, I have a good knowledge of the yacht and the sailing traits. I could also consider sailing the yacht from its current location to your home port. More info and about transport sailing (in Swedish) here: https://portugalagent.com/sv/transportsegling-till-sverige/

If you would you like to keep the yacht in Nazaré, this can also be arranged.
